Bushidokan has been my primary Earth dojo since my martial arts journey officially began in 2005. We practice Kododo Jujitsu, and a hybridized version of Shorin Ryu Matsumura Kenpo. Head instructor Sensei James Olson is a phenomenal artist martial artist and exceptional human being. His father Sensei Dave Olson is also not to be mis-underestimated.

The Kokodo Jujitsu was founded by our incredibly brilliant and talented Soke Irie in approximately 2008 as a further refinement of Hakko Ryu Jujitsu, which in turn descended from Daito Ryu Jujitsu as practiced by the samurai. It has been my honor and pleasure to participate in several seminars led by Soke Irie, and hopefully there will be many more opportunities to do so in the future.
Shihan Seamark of Vancouver Canada is the highest ranking Kokodo Jujitsu instructor in North America, and out Bushidokan falls under his authority. Shihan Seamark is a truly world class instructor, artist, and force of nature. He personally presided when Sensei Wael and I tested together for the rank of Shodan, although Wael’s skill and knowledge has since then far surpassed my own.
Shihan Matt Godsil is a truly unique martial artist and excellent overall individual. He holds 7th degree black belts in both Kokodo Jujitsu and Shorin Ryu Matsumura Kenpo, and is currently refining this combination into his own system of kenpo. It was through the jujitsu that he met Sensei Dave and Sensei James of Bushidokan and began to instruct them in the kenpo. He travels to Fresno periodically to instruct and oversee our progress.

I, Dada (Byron H Diel) currently train weekly with Sensei Wael in PTK Kali, a Filipino knife and stick art. I am still a novice in this art, but really enjoy it, and am begining to make some progress.
I have yet to have the honor and pleasure of training with Master Joseph Simonet, but hope to find a way to do so someday. I am a huge fan of his YouTube videos, and find his teaching extremely valuable. This man is a world-class force to be reckoned with, and a highly intelligent and effective communicator and teacher.
Sensei Wael has been to several seminars with Guru Dan Inosanto, and persuasively argues that he may be the worlds greatest living martial artist. My brief introduction to his vast knowledge and skill through video leads me to the same conclusion. I hope to make it to a seminar sometime soon with this truly legendary master.
